TAUZ and ZACCI Hold Business Talk Series on Celebrating Success

Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), in collaboration with the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), recently hosted an insightful Business Talk Series under the theme "Celebrating Wins Through a Positive Mindset." The event brought together business leaders, professionals, and students in Lusaka for an engaging discussion on the importance of cultivating a positive mindset in achieving personal, professional, and organizational success.

The keynote session was delivered by Dr. Sylvia Mwansa Chief Executive Officer of SBM Training & Consulting Institute, who shared extensive insights on how individuals and organisations can develop and maintain a positive mindset to navigate challenges, celebrate accomplishments, and sustain motivation over the long term. 

Dr. Mwansa highlighted that acknowledging both minor and major achievements is critical in building confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose. 

She emphasized that a positive mindset is not merely an attitude but a strategic tool for enhancing productivity, fostering innovation, and driving long-term growth in dynamic business environments. Drawing on examples from successful local and international enterprises,

 Dr. Mwansa illustrated how leaders who embrace positivity create work cultures that motivate teams, attract opportunities, and enhance overall organizational performance.

Meanwhile Dr. Amit Singh Dean of the School of Medicine at Texila American University Zambia, expressed sincere appreciation to the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry for partnering with the university to deliver the talk series. Dr. Singh stressed the significance of such engagements in bridging the often-observed gap between academia and the business sector. 

He highlighted that these platforms provide students and professionals with direct exposure to practical insights, real-world challenges, and strategies from accomplished leaders in the business community. By engaging with industry practitioners, learners gain not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills and mindset required to succeed in today’s competitive and fast-evolving business landscape.

Also addressing the audience, Ms. Jacqueline Siwale Acting Dean for the School of Business at TAUZ, encouraged participants to embrace a positive and solution-oriented outlook in both their academic and professional endeavors. 

She underscored that cultivating the right mindset is essential in adapting to the rapidly changing business environment and achieving sustained personal and professional growth.

 Ms. Siwale urged students to remain resilient, continuously seek knowledge, and adopt an attitude of perseverance, noting that challenges are opportunities in disguise for those who approach them positively.

The event was graced by Mr. Gideon Chibuye, Vice President – Trade and Commerce at the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), who attended as Guest of Honour, along with **Mr. Emmanuel Mumba**, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ZACCI. Their presence underscored the critical importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and the business community in fostering leadership, innovation, and economic development. 

Both leaders highlighted the role of initiatives like the Business Talk Series in equipping the next generation of professionals with skills and perspectives that contribute to national competitiveness and growth.
